Research data management can sound tedious, but most researchers encounter its challenges every day: missing metadata, unclear folder structures, duplicated files, or analyses that are hard to reproduce later on. The good news is that small changes in how you organize your data can make a big difference. In this workshop we will address the following questions:
- Why do I need research data management for my PhD and other research projects?
- What does FAIR data management mean in pracitce?
- What are strategies that can make research data management feel manageable?
- How do I avoid making data management a time-consuming task?
We will show you simple methods for organizing your data that you can test out right away. After that, we will introduce you to more advanced approaches to automate the integration of heterogeneous datasets using open source software.
